Multiple deaths like the ones that occurred at the community college in Oregon tody are the
price we pay as a society to underwrite the Second Amendment “rights”
for “lawful gun owners.”
This is, sadly, at least the ninth time in the past six years and likely not the last time that I will use
the above statement to begin a posting. I first used it following the
Aurora CO moviehouse shooting and then following the Newtown CT school
shooting and several other equally sad shooting
incidents.
This one struck closer to home in that the shooting site was one where I sometimes and occasionally work - not the specific campus, but the fact that it was classrooms at a community college. President Obama is preparing to address the nation momentarily. So I may end this screed and just post it while I listen to the President.
